I heard about ticket resale for a little while now, decided to actually try it myself just recently. Wish there was a bit more activity on the site so decided to start this thread.
Seems to me that once you learn the basics of how to buy/sell tickets the real expertise of flipping tickets is knowning what/who sells out and what doesn’t. This is clearly a very broad field, people specialize in different things, and it takes a long time to learn the ins and out of each market/city/venue. So what would be really amazing is a thread where people share their experience of what/who usually or always sells out and is essentially a good bet. To add some sort of a useful format to it maybe list the info below as well.
– Entertainer’s name (singer, band, event, sports teams, etc.)
– Venue / City
– How often they sell out concerts
– How quickly they sell out concerts
– Average price of ticket at face value
– Average price of ticket at resale value
As I said I only just started so I don’t have much to add to others myself yet. I just bought a pair of Billy Joel tickets at Madison Square Garden at face value. Given previous concerts at this venue always sell out it seemed like a safe bet, their rear stage tickets though so might be some issues there, we’ll see how it goes, my thinking was rear stage 15 rows from stage is a lot better then nosebleed sits at same price.
Any luck with your Billy Joel tickets?
Great idea! And not just for concerts, sporting events and other big attractions would be great also. 🙂
